If you are in an industry where lifting oversize assets is part of your day-to-day operations, a top-notch hoist or lift could be a smart choice. In addition to being safer, lifts can save time and enhance your customer service capability.

Determining which hoists or lifts you should consider can be a challenge. Learning more about our products can help you make that choice easier.

Our Hoist Products

No matter what industry you are in, Inca Lifts can provide the right product to get the job done efficiently. Our products are hard at work in the mining industry for mechanics, bus repairs, heavy vehicle inspection, and many more job sites where safe and effective hoists and lifts are necessary. We are proud to offer our versatile line so you can choose the lift that best meets your company’s needs.

  • The Inca QJZ 5.0 Mechanical Column Lift – Lifting Capacity -5,000kg- This mechanical cabled column lift is designed to provide smooth and safe operation due in part to its straightforward design. You will need 32amp 3 Phase 440V power to operate the system. The QJZ 5.0 has an intuitive usage system. Each lift can operate independently from the others using a pallet jack handle or together as a unit at the touch of a button. This lift relies on a high-tensile screw and nut lifting system. The nut moves the carriage up or down, and the screw to raises or lowers an asset. A limit switch and safety nut ensure maximum protection for the operator, the asset, and the lift machine.
  • The KP55 Wireless Hydraulic Lift – Lifting Capacity 5,500kg – The perfect pairing of top-tier wireless communication technology and state-of-the-art hydraulics, the KP55 boasts strength, efficiency, and unified operation. The lift has the latest safety features, including a limit switch and an innovative self-levelling interface that maintains the lift’s stability. The KP55 features flexibility as the columns can operate as individual, pairs, or all together, depending on the job. A 24v system pumps hydraulic fluid into the cylinder to raise the carriage. The same system allows the fluid to release from the hydraulic ram to lower the carriage.
  • KP75 Wireless Hydraulic Lift- Lifting Capacity 7,500kg – A more powerful version of the KP55 lift, the KP75 operates using a hydraulic ram and ratchet locking system. It provides efficiency, strength, and hi-tech capabilities. A 24v system operates as the KP55 system. The KP75 also features similar safety features.

In today’s competitive marketplace, your business needs every possible edge to get maximum profits. One key way to increase your profits is by enhancing your efficiency.

Consider this: if everything about the work completed in your shop is equal to that of a competitor, your ability to get the job done well and quickly is your edge over the competition.
This is where Inca Lifts can be exceptionally helpful to your company. Our hoists and lifts save time and increase efficiency in the workshops that use them.

What is Workplace Efficiency?

Workplace efficiency allows workers to be optimally productive while using the minimum number of resources, time, and effort. An efficient workplace typically leads to higher productivity, increased profits, higher worker satisfaction, greater camaraderie, enhanced quality, and loyal customers.

How Can I Improve Efficiency in My Shop?

There are a number of ways to build efficiency into your workday.

  • Workplace Culture – An often overlooked component of the workplace, workplace culture is not created by employers, but you can encourage specific attitudes. Give all employees respect. Whether you are speaking with the custodial or the CFO, treat them as people you value. Consider teambuilding events or a suggestion box to allow employees to express themselves in non-traditional ways.
  • Innovation – Upping efficiency with innovation does not always mean creating a new product or service. It can sometimes be taking a hard look at how things are and improving on it. Relying on your staff to help with this can enhance the workplace culture you are striving to achieve. Customers, suppliers, and others you contact consistently can also be a great source of ideas for innovation.

Service Repair Installation

Examples of Efficiency Innovations

  • Business process improvements (such as a lift or hoist) to help employees do more work in less time
  • Waste minimisation
  • Simplifying an existing process

Streamlining Workflow – It is easy to be caught up in the ‘way things have always been done’ mentality. This is why taking a step back to review how processes are working now is an important part of building efficiency. Take the time to create a benchmark using your businesses’ Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), so you can track changes in workflow.

A significant factor in streamlining workflow is to define and prioritise tasks carefully. This will ensure your shop’s efficiency. Keeping track of how many hours an employee spends on a specific type of project can also shed light on any potential bottlenecks that impede progress.

Effective Resource Allocation – Assuring that your company’s resources are used in the best way possible is vital for efficiency. In a workshop, this includes having necessary tools ready for your employees to use, ensuring equipment is easy to access, and any needed materials are available. Safe materials and equipment are essential facets of resource allocation, and regular safety checks must be carried out.

Embracing Technology – Working with the latest technology can upset some employees, but eventual change in all areas is unavoidable. The fact that modern technology can significantly enhance workshop efficiency is not changing.

Consider workshop life before computer technology. Handwritten invoices and estimates to keep track of were difficult to manage and took a great amount of time. Without an automatic inventory, you were at risk of running out of basic necessities for the shop. These are just a few examples.

When you look at lifts and hoists that come with true game-changing technology, it is easy to see why embracing these is vital. The ease of lifting and lowering the vehicles you are working on is amazing. You and your staff will never want to return to the old way of doing things.

Continuous Training and Skill Development – A significant issue seen in hundreds of businesses in a variety of industries is that sufficient training for proper use is often non-existent.

The problem with this scenario is easy to spot. Not only will the company not recoup the cost of new equipment used improperly and inefficiently, but it is also potentially dangerous to allow workers to operate hoists and lifts without enough training. Investing in continuous training and skill development for technicians contributes to increased workshop efficiency.

Leading Hoist Solution

Conclusion

Regardless of the size of your workshop, if you work on heavy machinery, our lifts and hoists can save you and your employees time and effort in raising and lowering the equipment. Inca Lifts provides top-of-the-line equipment to increase your shop’s efficiency and safety. We offer training for your team, and we follow up to make sure you are satisfied with your new equipment.

If you want to learn more about our lifts and hoists, please contact Inca Lifts. Our staff is well-trained in customer support, service, and sales. When you depend on specific machinery daily, you know the frustration when a crucial piece breaks down. It costs you time and money to repair or replace, and your reputation could suffer because of unfulfilled orders.

Even top-of-the-line machines will work inefficiently and eventually fail without the correct care. This is why at Inca Lifts we make sure our clients understand the critical nature of proper maintenance.

Correct maintenance is not just a smart idea. In Australia, it is the law. Among other things, Australian Standard AS/NZ 1418.9 requires the following:

  • ‘In House’ training of all users of the hoist
  • Ensure safety procedures are visible and available, including hoist decals and operation manuals.
  • Record all inspections, maintenance, modifications, and repairs, and retain the logs.
  • Hoists must undergo inspection by a qualified person when the machine reaches ten years of service.
  • After 25 years of use, the hoist manufacturer must be contacted to see if the machine is eligible for an extension for its continued use. This is because most machinery of this type has a 25-year ‘design life.’

To help you keep your equipment in excellent condition, here are the top three ways you can maintain your mobile hoists.

1. Regular Inspections

It is easy to become wrapped up in work projects and misses small but significant issues with your hoist equipment. A daily visual inspection is necessary to prevent widespread, more expensive, and potentially dangerous situations. Additionally, your hoist equipment should undergo monthly inspections checking for wear and tear and malfunctions or poor performance.

If your hoist machinery is modified in some way or if it has not been used for several months, you should inspect it to ensure safe operations upon use.

2. Proper Cleaning and Lubrication

Debris is one of the top reasons for hoist failure. Ensure your machinery is in top shape by cleaning and lubricating it according to the manufacturer’s direction. Do not hesitate to contact the manufacturer if you do not have access to cleaning and lubricating instructions.

3. Professional Maintenance

Keeping up with maintenance is vital to ensure your equipment is safe for use and working well. In addition, you should schedule an annual maintenance session with a professional auto lift technician who is a specialist in your particular brand of hoist.

Mobile Column Lift Supplier

In between professional checkups, follow this checklist of regular maintenance tasks.

DAILY

  • Wipe away dirt or grease
  • Inspect the moving parts, cables, and hoses for problems such as signs of unusual wear and tear.
  • Check the locking mechanisms and safety features before use
  • Make a note of any parts that are not functioning correctly and replace them right away

WEEKLY

  • Inspect all pulleys, rollers, chains, and safety lock pivot points and lubricate them to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust
  • Check for proper mounting of nuts, bolts, cables, and pins. Tighten anything that seems loose.
  • Look for damaged parts and replace them as needed

MONTHLY

  • Check the tension of hoses, chains, and cables and adjust as needed
  • Carefully clean the entire lift. Not only does this improve the appearance and prevent decay, but it exposes any hidden issues
  • Check anchor bolts and tighten any loose bolts
  • Check to make sure the hoist columns are securely bolted to the shop floor and sit squarely in place

You can count on top quality at a fair price regardless of the type of Inca Lifts product you purchased. If you are unsure about maintenance, please reach out to us. Everyone who represents Inca Lifts is trained to ensure our customers are satisfied and their expectations exceeded.

At Inca Lifts, we specialise in heavy vehicle lifting equipment and accessories. Whether you are on a mining site or own a shop near home, we have the right equipment to meet your lifting needs. We also have experienced team members to assist you with purchases, answer questions, and provide guidance after you receive your equipment.

We proudly offer several hoists that we can tailor to your needs. We have cables and wireless solutions, all with top-of-the-line capabilities and lift capacities. Our KP75 wireless lift has our line’s maximum capacity of 7500 kg (30T for a set of 4), and other configurations are possible.

Benefits of Inca Lift Hoists in Your Shop

1. Time Saving

If you have waited for an asset to be in the correct position so you can begin working on it, you know how long ordinary lifting methods can take.

By using an Inca solution, this wait time is eliminated. Your team can rapidly position assets with precision, and the reverse is true upon completion of a repair or service.

Additionally, your quick service will help to reduce any downtime your clients may experience while their vehicles are in your care.

2. Improved Performance

Manual Labour vs Cranes vs Inca Lift Hoists- Doing things the way they “have always been done” has some significant drawbacks. These are easy to spot when looking at lifting assets.

Using manual methods of lifting heavy assets for repair or servicing was once the only option for workshop staff. The lifting was slow and dangerous. After repairs, additional dangers were present to lower the asset safely.

Cranes add the advantage of vertical and horizontal movement to the process of lifting heavy loads. However, the purpose of doing maintenance work on an asset is not always best served by using a crane. The use of a crane is limited by where you are working. A great number of workshops are not able to accommodate cranes of any size. Even if you can use a crane to lift heavy vehicles for maintenance or repair, you must have a crane operator to do the work safely.

Inca Lifts’ hoists are built for safety and efficiency. Using Inca Lifts hoists saves you the labour-intensive process of manual lifting and the logistics challenge of trying to use a crane to lift a heavy vehicle. Positioning the columns of the hoist and allowing the machinery to do the job is all you need to do. We make sure your staff understands how to operate the hoists before we leave your shop. If your team needs more assistance, we can help with training.

3. Save Money

All business owners know how much they need a good return on investments (ROI) to succeed. Inca Lifts hoists are more than equipment for the workshop. These hoists are a textbook example of ROI in action.

Once you begin to use the hoists, you will see for yourself the improved efficiency, as well as accuracy as your work is completed faster than you believed, was possible.

Additionally, these solid and well-made hoists require minimal servicing or repairs. This will save you downtime in your shop and allow you to keep your clients satisfied with your efficiency and professionalism.

Happy clients usually share their good experiences with others and leave positive reviews. Of course, this opens the door to increased business and new customers.

Hoists or mobile column lifts are an essential piece of equipment in the mining industry, serving as a crucial means of servicing, repairing and maintaining plant and machinery, vehicles and trucks that are used daily.

We will explore the many ways in which hoists can improve safety, efficiency, and productivity on a mine site. We will also discuss the various types of hoists available and the factors to consider when choosing the right hoist for your workshop on any mine site. Whether you are a mine manager looking to improve operations or a technician seeking to learn more about hoists, we hope that this blog will provide valuable insights and information.

So, let’s dive in and learn more about the important role that hoists play in the mining industry!

  1. Improved Safety: One of the primary benefits of using a hoist to service mining vehicles is the improved safety it offers. By using a hoist, technicians can safely lift assets to facilitate ease of access and reduce stress on their bodies. This reduces the risk of accidents and injuries on the job.
  2. Increased Efficiency: Hoists are much faster and more efficient than traditional methods of servicing mining vehicles. They can lift assets quickly and easily, reducing the time and effort required to perform maintenance and repairs.
  3. Enhanced Accuracy: Using a hoist allows technicians to position the asset to allow for improved accuracy for major jobs such as gearbox replacements, which can improve the quality of repairs and maintenance.
  4. Improved Access: Hoists provide technicians with better access to hard-to-reach areas of mining vehicles, which can make it easier to perform maintenance and repairs. This can be particularly useful for larger vehicles that may be difficult to work on using traditional methods.
  5. Reduced Downtime: By using a hoist to service mining vehicles, technicians can complete maintenance and repairs more quickly and efficiently. This can help to reduce downtime and improve the overall productivity of the mine site.

Inca Lifts offers a range of hoists specifically designed for vehicles used in the mining industry, including the KP-75 and KP-55. Both of these hoists are designed to provide safe and efficient heavy and light asset lifting capabilities.

The KP-75 is a high-capacity hoist where each post can lift 7500 kg (30T for a set of 4) and the KP-55 is a smaller hoist that can lift 5500 kg per post (22T for a set of 4). These are usually grouped into 2, 4 or 6 based on your needs.

Both the KP-75 and KP-55 feature robust construction and advanced safety features to ensure safe lifting. They are also designed to operate in a wide range of environments and conditions, making them a reliable choice for mine sites around the world. If you need a high-quality hoist for your mine site, consider the KP-75 or KP-55 from Inca Lifts.

When choosing a hoist for your mine site, it is important to consider factors such as the lifting capacity you require, and the operating environment. By selecting the right hoist for your needs, you can ensure that you are maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of your operations.

We hope that this blog has provided valuable insights into the many benefits of hoists on a mine site and the factors to consider when choosing the right hoist for your needs.

At Inca Lifts, we are continually evaluating our products to improve safety, user functionality and reliability. Inca has implemented several changes to our KP55 and KP75 wireless mobile column lifts to improve the user experience and ensure ongoing reliability. Here are the top benefits of our recent upgrades.

1. 7″ Siemens Smart Line Touchscreen Display

The introduction of the 7″ Siemens Smart Line Touchscreen allows for an improved user experience incorporating a larger screen, improved display and upgrades to the system’s programming and functionality.

In addition to the better lighting and sharp, professional looks, the Siemens Smart Line has impressive and significantly upgraded functionality. Standard features include incorporated safety tips, user manuals, an operator’s guide, a set maintenance schedule, and fault-finding documents.

2. New Siemens Smart PLC (Master and Slaves)

By enhancing processing speed while reducing latency between the operating posts, the Siemens Smart PLC will provide your shop with greatly increased stability in the processing operations. Your workshop will also benefit from the improved tyne alignment during operation.

3. Improved Motors

With improvements in motor technology Inca has implemented new Mahle 3.0kW motors in the KP75 and a new 2.2kW Junchi motor in the KP55, both have proven to increase reliability and improve the user experience.

4. CSB GPL-12100-12VDC Batteries

You likely know that using a poor-grade battery can significantly diminish the capacity and performance of your equipment. This is why we use the CSB GPL-12100-12VDC Batteries. These improved batteries will save you time because they are maintenance-free. Additionally, you will save money because the batteries deliver up to 10 years of expected battery life under a normal float charge. As always, CSB batteries are rechargeable, highly efficient, and leakproof.

5. Increased Safety

When you look at the vast improvements in the equipment, it is easy to see that combining the enhancements will offer a significantly upgraded product. Additionally, our customers will get an overall safer piece of equipment. You will also see that the functions of the equipment are smoother, and there are fewer issues to encounter. While there is a slight price increase, the added benefits far outpace the cost.

If you need guidance regarding our product line or determining the best options for your shop, feel free to reach out to us at Inca Lifts. Our experienced staff can make recommendations to ensure that you have the equipment to give you the best product for your money.

Thanks!

  • KP55 and KP75 – You will need a 230v standard power outlet to charge the system. Additionally, each post uses 2 deep cycle batteries in series (24v) to power the operation of the post. The KP75 has a 30t lifting capacity on 4 columns up to 45t on 6 columns, and the KP55 can lift 22t on 4 columns up to 33t on 6 columns. Both feature wireless engineering and have exceptional lift capacities.

How the Systems Raise and Lower Assets

The QJZ 5.0T Mechanical Column Lift – This lift system is a mechanical cabled solution that joins uncomplicated design features with sturdy components. The QJZ 5.0 T MCL requires a 32amp 3 Phase 440V power source to operate. The mechanism uses a high-tensile screw and nut lifting system, which is sometimes called a worm drive. The lift motor turns the screw which causes the drive nut to move the carriage up or down the screw to raise or lower an asset. To ensure maximum safety for the operator, the asset, and the lift machine, the drive nut is supported by a limit switch and safety nut.

The Wireless Hydraulic KP55 and KP75 – The lift systems combine hydraulics and high-tech wireless communication to create an efficient and unified operation. The wireless communication capability means instantaneous responses to commands. The combination of these elements significantly improves safety. The smart self-levelling interface maintains the stability of the lift. Additionally, the lifts have numerous backup safety features and functions. Both the KP55 and KP75 lifts utilise a 24v system to pump hydraulic fluid into the hydraulic cylinder to raise the carriage. The same system allows the hydraulic fluid to release from the hydraulic ram to lower the carriage.

Accessories – There are several accessories that are available to help make the Inca Lift systems even more useful. We carry axle stands, power train lifts, small wheel adaptors and more. You can also get canvas covers that are designed to fit your lifts and keep them clean and ready to use.

Whether you are a small shop or a fleet you maintain, Inca Lifts has the right equipment to get the job done safely. If you would like to know more about our lifts or other specifics, please feel free to contact us. One of our experienced team members will be happy to help you.

One key to understanding which type of equipment you should invest in for your shop is learning about the equipment and how it works.

What is a Hoist?

Hoists are a valuable asset to your workplace as they can lift and hold significant amounts of weight. Some jobs are impossible without one. At Inca Lifts, we offer a line of hoists that is second-to-none. Our experienced team understands the specifics of the products and is happy to help you choose the correct hoist for your job.

How Do Hoists Work?

Inca Lifts offers two types of lifts for our customers. These are the QJZ, which is mechanical, and the second, the KP, which is operated by a hydraulic system.

The QJZ is a tough piece of equipment primarily used to lift heavy machinery, like buses, trucks, and other large assets. When using a hoist, you improve safety in your shop as well as efficiency.

Key Facts about the QJZ:

  • Three phases 32 amp power is necessary to operate the posts
  • The power drives the motor turning the screw and drive nut lifts as well as lowering the carriage based on the operator’s need
  • A safety nut trails the drive nut providing redundancy as the drive nut wears down until it needs replacement

The KP is available in two models, the KP55 and the KP75. The weight limit is the most significant difference between the models. Both the KP55 and 75 use a system of hoist hydraulics.

Key Facts about the KP:

  • Two deep cycle batteries power the posts
  • The KP 55 and KP 75 are wireless hoists. This is often a safety advantage because it reduces the chance of tripping on wires extended across the floor of your shop
  • Hydraulic fluid from the reservoir is pumped into the hydraulic ram to lift the carriage
  • To lower the carriage, the hydraulic fluid is released from the ram
  • Safety systems are built to ensure that the posts operate safely. Keeping carriage heights level and raising and lowering at safe speeds are examples of two crucial areas of concern.

What is the Lifting Capacity of the Hoists?

Generally speaking, the total lifting capacity of each post varies based on the number of posts in the set. Detailed information regarding lifting capabilities for groups of four and six posts, as well as individual posts, is available on our Product Pages.

  • QJZ 5.0T lifts five tonnes per post, equaling 20,000kg per 4 posts and 30,000kg per 6 posts.
  • KP55 lifts around 5500kg per post 22,000kg per 4 posts and 33,000kg per 6 posts
  • KP75 will lift 7500kg per post 30,000kg per 4 posts and 45,000kg per 6 posts

How Many Hoists Make Up a Set?

There are several ways to configure a set. They can be made with two, four, or six posts. A vital point is that there are a balanced number of hoists to keep a vehicle of any size safely balanced.

What is a Hoist Used for?

Hoists typically have several different uses.

  • Lifting trucks for servicing, repairs, and unplanned work
  • To lift buses for servicing, repairs, and impromptu work.
  • Lifting machinery and equipment for servicing, repairs, and unexpected work
  • Lifting trailers for servicing, repairs, and ad hoc work.
  • Lifting light vehicles such as four-wheel drive models for servicing, repairs, and unforeseen work.

Regardless of the size of your company or the assets you service, Inca Lifts has the right hoist for your job. Feel free to reach out to us with your concerns or questions; one of our experts will get you the information you need.

When you are buying a new hoist, you have plenty of things to consider. Price, versatility, and the reputation of the manufacturer are a few that come to mind. But, before you seal the deal on your new hoist, you must check five critical specs to ensure you are getting the right equipment for your shop.

1. Lifting Capacity

Lift capacity is the maximum weight that can be lifted by each column or the hoist as a set. All mobile lifting columns and hoists are rated to a maximum capacity and tested beyond this to ensure safe lifting within these parameters. The capacity of the columns or hoist as a set can be impacted by the method of operation, material utilised and overall application. It is always better to choose a hoist with a lifting capacity higher than your heaviest load and to never overload a column or hoist as a set.

2. Overall Hoist Height

While it may sound obvious, make sure to factor in the combined height of your vehicle and lift once raised. Being able to adjust the maximum height of travel is a great way to ensure your columns/hoists and the vehicle they are lifting are not damaged or put the operator at risk of damage.

3. Floor Requirements

The floor your hoist is on makes a world of difference when it comes to stability and overall safety for you and your employees.

Before purchasing your mobile lifting columns or hoist, it is recommended to consult your preferred supplier to ensure your work surface meets the needs of the product, some important factors are:

  • Material the floor is made of – Reinforced concrete is the preferred material.
  • The thickness and strength of the material the floor is made of – The majority of systems will require a 120mm thick slab that can withstand 3000psi of pressure
  • Gradient of the working surface – This is to ensure a stable lifting surface that will not allow a column or asset to be damaged by tipping.

4. Tyre Size and Tyre Adjustment

Some mobile column lifts or hoists only cater to one wheel size. It is important to ensure the tyne width is adjustable and has attachments to allow for different size lifting or meets the one-wheel size you may have.

5. Versatility of Use

Many workshops are limited in space or handle a large range of vehicles. Mobile column lifts are a great solution to allow for multiple work locations, and a range of vehicle lengths and widths all whilst minimising workshop space and allowing for additional flexibility of storage and use.

When choosing your preferred mobile column lift and hoist supplier it is important to consider the above points and to take into consideration future requirements and expectations where possible.
